In order to avoid dehydration headaches, you must focus on drinking enough water throughout the day and eat water-rich foods.

Interestingly, magnesium is a safe and effective remedy for headaches. Evidence shows that magnesium deficiency is more common in individuals who suffer from migraine headaches. Studies have proved that treatment with 600 mg of oral magnesium citrate per day can lessen both the severity and frequency of migraine headache. However, intake of magnesium supplements can results in digestive side effects like for example, diarrhoea, so it is better to start with a small dose while treating headache symptoms. Magnesium supplements are available online too.
  • Get enough sleep- Sleep deprivation can be detrimental to your health in several ways and may even cause a headache. For instance, one study compared headache severity and frequency in people who got less than 6 hours of sleep per night and those who slept for a long time. To avoid headaches, it is suggested by doctors that everyone must sleep for at least nine hours.
  • Reduce the intake of alcohol- Having alcohol may not cause a headache in many people. Studies have proved that alcohol can trigger migraines in nearly one-third of people who experience frequent headaches. Alcohol can cause cluster headaches and tension in many. It acts as a vasodilator, which widens the blood vessels and allows blood to flow freely. Vasodilation can result in headaches. In fact, headaches are one of the common side effects of vasodilators like blood pressure medicines. In addition, alcohol acts as a diuretic, resulting in loss of electrolytes and fluid through continuous urination. The loss of fluid can cause dehydration, which can worsen headaches.
  • Essential Oils- Essential oils are highly concentrated liquids that consist of aromatic compounds from various plants. They have several therapeutic benefits and are most often used topically, though some of them can be ingested. Lavender and peppermint essential oils are very helpful when you suffer from a headache.
